Thank you for visiting our website and thus showing interest in the environmental impact of your car.

This site will help you to find and compare the ecoscores of new and old vehicles. The ecoscore allows us to evaluate the environmental performance of a vehicle by taking into account the most important environmental impact factors caused by the vehicle. An ecoscore between 0 and 100 will be attributed to every vehicle. The closer to 100, the more environmentally friendly the vehicle is. On the one hand, the ecoscore takes into account the emission of greenhouse gases (mostly CO2) which cause global warming. On the other hand, the ecoscore considers the impact of emissions that have a direct, negative effect on human health (e.g. particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, ...) and the impact of certain emissions on ecosystems, next to noise.
If the ecoscore of a vehicle is less than 50, the vehicle is considered to be very environmentally unfriendly. If on the other hand the ecoscore is more than 70 the vehicle is said to be environmentally friendly. If a vehicle has an ecoscore between 50 and 70, its negative impact on the environment decreases the closer its score comes to 70. Almost all categories contain vehicles with an ecoscore of 65 and more. If the fuel consumption of a vehicle is decreased by 10%, the ecoscore is raised by 2 points on average. Installing a particulate filter on a diesel car raises the ecoscore by 5 points on average. Vehicles with a retrofit LPG-system are not included in the data set. However, in general they have a higher ecoscore than their petrol-fuelled equivalents.
This website allows you to search the data in several ways. You can search for instance for all cars with an ecoscore of 68, or with an ecoscore between 65 and 75, or with a CO2-emission between 100 and 130 g/km, etc...
